A stock board is easy to build and hard to make true. Four choices decide whether people start trusting the screen instead of walking the freezer, and none of them is a feature you would think to ask for.

The header has to foot against the rows
Stock held for a customer is named separately and never added into the operation's own figure. Here that is 7,300 lb sitting in the building that is not yours to sell, and the board says so on the card rather than in a footnote.

In transit is not in the total
The 11,300 lb on a truck sits in its own lane below the sites. A board that folds in transit stock into the destination is a board that will happily let the office promise the same fish twice.

Old stock has to raise its own hand
Anything past 90 days flags itself. The pallet that costs money is never the one somebody is thinking about, and there is 38,800 lb of it here.

Racks are not pallets
Product still in the blast freezer is counted as lots on racks, because pallets do not exist yet at that point in the sequence. Getting this wrong is how a board ends up describing an operation that does not exist.
A board is only as true as the wharf under it.
