A share settlement is the most trust sensitive arithmetic in a fishing operation. Six people are going to add it up themselves on the way home, and if the shares do not sum back to the pool, one of them is right and you are not.

This is the statement, computed when the page was built. The engine behind it works in integer cents and allocates the remainder deliberately, so the shares always sum to the pool. Not a spreadsheet that quietly drops a penny.

Drag the stock down until the trip goes bad.

Push the running costs past the stock and the crew pool goes negative. Every share goes negative with it, and it still reconciles: the crew owes back, or it carries to the next trip, whichever your agreement says. Software that only handles a good trip is software you cannot use in a bad season.
