A share fisher and a plant hand are paid by two completely different sets of rules, and most software in this industry only knows one of them. The shore crew are hourly employees, so their pay is CRA federal tax, provincial tax, CPP and CPP2, EI, and vacation accrual, all of it to the cent, every week, whether the season is good or not.

The interesting part is not the tax, it is the shape: push a packer past forty hours and the marginal deduction climbs faster than the gross, because weekly withholding is computed from an annualised income. That is the thing a plant manager needs to feel before a season, not discover in it.
